Volume Booster – Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 29, 2026

Volume Booster ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that makes the audio of a browser tab louder. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your information.

Summary

Volume Booster does not collect, store, sell or share any personal data. It has no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no advertising.

How the extension works

When you click the extension icon and choose a volume level, Chrome's tabCapture feature gives the extension the audio of that one tab. The audio is made louder on your own computer and played straight back to your speakers or headphones. The audio is:

• processed only in memory, on your device;
• never recorded, saved to disk or uploaded;
• never sent to the developer or any third party.

Capturing stops when you click "Turn off for this tab" or close the tab.

Permissions

• tabCapture – to read the audio of the tab you choose, so it can be made louder.
• offscreen – to run the audio processing in the background while you keep watching.
• activeTab – to act only on the tab you are on when you click the extension icon.

The extension does not read page content, browsing history, cookies, passwords or form data.

Data collection

The extension does not collect personally identifiable information, health, financial, authentication, personal communications, location, web history, user activity or website content.

Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes to this policy
